WAVs for Business
Community Care
At GowringsVersa Mobility, we specialise in Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) conversions that offer flexible and safe transport solutions for wheelchair users. With over 50 years’ experience in product development and design, our engineers work with a diverse landscape of private and public sectors to deliver accessible WAVs to families, adults, and communities from all walks of life.
Our success is built on our flexible and personalised approach to fleet management – we believe everyone should have the right to travel with freedom and independence. Our partnerships with leading vehicle manufacturers such as Vauxhall, Renault, and Ford, allows us to offer a range of adapted WAVs that are competitively priced and bespoke in design.
What Makes Us Different?
Why Choose GowringsVersa Mobility
At GowringsVersa Mobility our commitment to excellence dates back to 1963, when we invented the original ‘wheelchair passenger vehicle’ and became one of the first suppliers of WAVs to Motability, the UK Government’s leading body in accessible transport. Since then we have continued to grow into a household name, with two UK manufacturing plants, multiple offices, and thousands of our converted vehicles (WAVs) across the country, all of which demonstrate our commitment to reliability, quality, and safety.
Our in-house conversions are carried out by our skilled manufacturing and engineering teams to the highest industry standards, without the need for outsourcing. Ultimately this helps us control quality and reduce excessive costs and downtime.
We have strong relationships with businesses and organisations from various sectors, including local authorities, NHS, Patient Transport providers and National Care Home providers. Our extensive experience, industry knowledge and commitment to exceptional customer service, sets us apart from our competitors.
The majority of the vehicles in our range are covered by EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ECWVTA) or National Small Series Type Approval (NSSTA), both issued by the VCA. Some of our more bespoke solutions, tailored to a customer’s specific needs, may not hold one of these two volume type approvals, but would instead be sent for an Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) test at a DVSA test centre.
“With GowringsVersa Mobility, you have the added security of knowing that we supply vehicles with all the necessary safety and regulatory requirements.”

Snapshot of Different Industries
We share the belief that transportation today should be safe, comfortable, affordable, and accessible for all. Our experience in the mobility industry puts us in the best position to provide expert advice on every aspect of your accessible vehicle needs, from model and engine size to wheelchair capacity, running costs, and safety features.
When purchasing a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV), it can come with a significant cost. However, we work with many government organisations and charities and understand the importance of budget when choosing an accessible vehicle. At GowringsVersa, our aim to provide the best value for money. Here’s a glimpse of some of the industries we regularly serve:
Care Providers:
We provide vehicles for healthcare facilities, GP practices, and care homes to provide WAVs that can accommodate up to 4 wheelchairs or 16 passengers. Making sure the vehicles are specifically designed to meet the business needs.
Our Vauxhall Movano L2H2 is a fleet favourite for this application.

Local Authorities:
Our WAVs are great solutions for local authorities for transportation services, such as school buses and accessible transport.
Popular vehicles for this industry include the Vauxhall Movano, Ford Grand Tourneo Connect, and Renault Trafic.

Patient Transport:
All our vehicles are suitable for businesses and organisations providing patient transport services. They offer flexible, reliable and accessible solutions for patients who require transport for medical appointments or hospital visits, ensuring comfort and safety.
