WAV Finance Explained
We understand that buying your wheelchair accessible vehicle is a big commitment, which is why on this page we will give you some insight into the finance options that we are offering.
Need help paying for your WAV?
There are many ways to pay, which we’ll outline below.
1. Finance
At GowringsdVersa we’ve teamed up with Man Island to offer a financial solution to purchasing a WAV. By using your mobility, allowance on a finance agreement provides you with an opportunity to own the vehicle outright (after all payments have been fulfilled). It also means that future allowances can go towards other expenses like maintenance, insurance, fuel, etc, especially if you do not qualify for the Motability Scheme.
Our team of Mobility Managers treat each application on an individual basis, so we are able to tailor the finance offer to suit your unique needs and circumstance, meaning deposit amounts and repayment periods are completely flexible.
If you are interested in financing a vehicle with GowringsVersa our calculator can help you work out what your monthly repayments could be. It’s important to make sure you can afford it, and get an idea of how much the total amount of interest will be by the time you’ve paid it off.
2. Motability Scheme
The Motability Scheme helps disabled people to use their Mobility Allowance to lease a car, scooter, powered wheelchair or wheelchair accessible vehicle. If you receive any of these benefits, you could be eligible:
- Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
- Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
- War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
- Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
This can then be used on either a New or Nearly New WAV, and at times will require an Advance Payment (similar to a cash deposit). A Motability lease will last either 3 or 5 years depending on the vehicle, and includes benefits like servicing, insurance and breakdown cover as part of the package.
3. Cash Payment
If you would rather own your Mobility Car outright, or you are not eligible for Motability, buying directly from GowringsVersa Mobility is also an option.
We’re happy to take bank transfer payments for your vehicle in full. You can pay outright and full ownership of the vehicle will be transferred to you.
We offers a full range of quality approved new and used wheelchair accessible vehicles to meet your needs. All of our Used mobility vehicles are supplied with a 2-year warranty, provided by the RAC*, to give you complete peace of mind.
4. Financial Assistance in the form of a Grant
Motability is a national charity, therefore they are able, in certain situations, to provide Charitable Grants to disabled people who would otherwise struggle to afford the mobility solution they need.
They will means-test all applications and will talk you through your circumstances and requirements on application. If you’d like to, you can speak to us and we’ll give you more detail or, indeed, help you find a solution where a grant may not be required. If you want to find out more, you can contact Motability on 0300 456 4566 (number charged at national rate).
