Minibus Safety Inspection Requirements
Whether you run your minibuses on a Section 19 permit, or a restricted or a full PSV operator’s licence, there is a legal requirement for regular safety inspections in addition to the annual MOT. Vehicles operated under a Section 19 permit require a safety inspection every ten weeks, or every thirteen weeks for low mileage newer vehicles.
The inspection must also now include a brake function test. Vehicles running under a restricted or full PSV operator’s licence require an inspection every ten weeks, or every 8 weeks for higher mileage minibuses. The PSV level inspection also requires a brake function test.
